ILO Governing Body to hold autumn session

The ILO's new Director-General, Gilbert F. Houngbo, will present his first report to the Organization's Governing Body meeting, which opens on October 31.The Governing Body of the International Labour Organization (ILO) will hold its 346th Session, starting on Monday 31 October 2022.

It will be first Governing Body meeting attended by the new ILO Director-General, Gilbert F. Houngbo, who took up office on 1 October 2022.

The Director-General will present his report to the Governing Body members, including developments related to the Global Coalition for Social Justice .

Also on the agenda will be issues arising from the 110th Session (2022) of the International Labour Conference concerning decent work and the social and solidarity economy and the inclusion of a safe and healthy working environment in the ILO’s framework of fundamental principles and rights at work.

The follow-up to the 109th Session of the Conference (2021) resolution concerning inequalities and the world of work will also be considered, as will the ILO strategy on skills and lifelong learning for 2022-30 .

As part of its supervisory functions, the Governing Body will also examine progress reports on Bangladesh , Guatemala and Venezuela. It will consider a report on a resolution concerning the Russian Federation's aggression against Ukraine and consider the need for any further measures to secure compliance by the Government of Belarus with the recommendations of the Commission of Inquiry .

The Governing Body will conclude its work on 10 November.
