Learn to Implement Best Practices in Working at Hazardous Places at OSH India 2019

To spread awareness on Occupational Safety & Health, Informa Markets (formerly UBM India) organises the largest OSH exhibition cum conference in South Asia, called OSH India, annually in Mumbai. The 8th edition is going to be held at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon from 28th-29th November, 2019. Nowadays workers deal with a lot of chemicals and active ingredients and therefore require the utmost attention as far as occupational safety and health is concerned. Most workers in India work with the deficient protective equipment and also do not take adequate precautions to safeguard their health.

The number of worker safety incidents reported by the industry makes one look at working with hazardous substances, with caution. In order to address these challenges it becomes imperative on the safety management to carry out regular safety audits and ensure that all measures for worker safety are adhered to without any compromise. In addition, the review of safety procedures, safety performance monitoring besides labour training on safe practices should be important constituents of company policy.

Ensuring that workplaces are safe is a huge responsibility for employers, particularly in hazardous industries like oil and gas, chemicals, pharma, mining and cement manufacturing. However, by putting simple checks and procedures in place, even the most problematic environments can be monitored safely.

As India becomes the top choice for doing business, we would need to tackle the cause and incidence of occupational accidents and ill health through visible leadership. OSH India through its shows provides a unique platform for safety professionals to network with industry stalwarts and gain knowledge on the latest developments in the space of Occupational Safety & Health. Over the last decade OSH India has received a tremendous response from industry professionals in India and has shown remarkable growth. Informa Markets has been organising OSH India, South Asia's largest safety & health expo and conference in Mumbai since 2012. The exhibition brings together more than 6000 national and international key industry professionals across construction, manufacturing, PPE and other key industry domains. The 2018 edition saw over 140 brands offering exclusive deals on more than 10,000 products across safety & health, ergonomics, material handling and service management including work wear, evacuation systems, gas detection, behavioural safety services and more. It is imperative on the organisation to carry out regular safety audits and ensure that all measures for worker safety are adhered to without any compromise. In addition, the review of safety procedures, safety performance monitoring besides labour training on safe practices should be important constituents of company policy.
