OSH India in association with Lloyd’s Register successfully hosted a webinar on the topic: The changing nature of risk within organizations: How OH&S management system ISO 45001 can help on 6th May, 2021 from 3-4 pm. This one-hour webinar addressed the hazards and risks associated with Occupational Health & Safety in the post-pandemic workplace and key take-aways for safety professionals.

Whilst external factors that are often out of our control may impact our world of work, one thing remains constant; you want your employees to be safe. There are new pandemic-driven, occupational risks that safety managers now must contend with related to the new-normal of home-based working and changes to the workplace environment; each of these magnify gaps in traditional, compliance-focused organizational safety management systems. ISO 45001 certification can help you achieve this by reducing workplace related risks and providing a solid framework for the health, safety and wellbeing of your employees – irrespective of your organisation’s size, sector or geographical location.

ISO 45001 is the international standard for occupational health and safety (OH&S) management. Increasingly a regulatory requirement in many countries, it helps organisations demonstrate their internal and external commitment to workplace safety and reinforce their business’ reputation with employees and customers. In response to the challenges posed by COVID-19, the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) has extended the migration deadline for ISO 45001 certification. Existing OHSAS 18001 certificates can now be extended for up to six months. This means that the period for migrating accredited certifications from OHSAS 18001:2007 to ISO 45001:2018 has been extended to September 2021.
