Informa Markets in India to Organise OSH Bangladesh 2024 from Sept 12-14 at ICCB, Dhaka

Informa Markets in India, India's leading exhibition organizer, will be organizing the 2nd Edition of OSH Bangladesh expo from Sep 12-14, 2024 in Hall 4, ICCB, Dhaka. The expo aims to bring together renowned International exhibitors, consultants, business experts and key government officials on an industry platform to exchange global best practices and seek solutions for challenges pertaining to workplace safety and health. OSH Bangladesh will be visited by professionals such as Safety Managers, Consultants, personnel from Defence Establishments, Disaster Management Experts, Distributors and Manufacturers of Health & Safety Products, Electrical Contracting/ Engineers, Facility Managers, Logistics Professionals, Municipal Authorities, System Integrators and Town Planners from across the global market.

OSH Bangladesh will facilitate exchange of global best practices and will seek solutions for challenges in upholding workplace safety and health. It will also showcase innovations and impart knowledge amidst an industry landscape of a vastly untapped Bangladesh market and will facilitate ways to incorporate best practices at the workplace, especially to promote health and safety within it.

While the country has made immense industrial progress and infrastructural capabilities, a large section of Bangladesh’s population employed in manual handling tasks, do not have access to adequate occupational safety and protection. It is estimated, over 11,000 workers suffer fatal accidents and a further 24,500 die from work related diseases across all sectors each year in Bangladesh. Further, approximately, 8 million workers have suffered injuries at work – many of which result in permanent disability. Conditions at boulder handling sites, saw mills, rice packaging plants and construction sites show the need for comprehensive reforms in occupational safety and health legislation and practice in Bangladesh.

Despite the fact that labour laws in Bangladesh require employers to undertake corrective measures on occupational safety and health, there is a lack of public awareness, training, non compliances of the OSH standards by the employers and the workforce don’t always place safety as a top priority. Informa Markets in India’s OSH Bangladesh Expo is geared to fillthis critical gap.
