The OSH Gurukul Conference: Building a Winning OSH Culture for a Safer Workforce
  • Over the years the OSH India conference running alongside the industry exhibition features thought-provoking speaker sessions and panel discussions on topics of contemporary interest from renowned HSE heads and international experts.
  • Now branded as The OSH Gurukul Conference it will run concurrently with the Expo on 21-22 Nov and draw strength from the experience of HSE veterans in large Indian industries and take their experiences to the uninitiated safety and health practitioners in the industry, thereby fulfilling the ambitious goal of bridging OSH divide between the large and small industrial clusters.
  • Delegates learn how to harness a culture of behavioural safety by installing systems and management best practices that promote exceptional performance.
  • Leading organisations in the Construction, Manufacturing, Pharma, Oil & Gas verticals such as L&T, Ford, Maruti, Tata Projects, Tata Motors and ONGC have sent 1,500+ delegates over the years at the conference.
  • OSH India endeavours to learn from the top leaders—Health and Safety Heads across industry—to understand how to take care of occupational safety and health of workers across industry and steps required to be taken to follow best safety practices within an organisation.
  • OSH India will provide leadership insights and help empower safety and productivity at work.
  • Each session provides the most comprehensive information needed to meet regulations and overcome industry challenges.
  • You will have the opportunity to meet professionals from every industry, explore the latest trends in safety while making new contacts at the tradeshow.
  • Esteemed officials from the directorate of industrial safety and health to give key note speeches to address the need of the hour of the safety and health industry.
The key topics to be discussed as part of OSH South India conference:
  • The effective management of workplace health related conditions
  • HSE at Workplace: Future risks, challenges and opportunities
  • Workshop: Ergonomics and Workplaces: Formulation the Right Mix of Health and Productivity
  • The Impact of Health and Safety Regulations and Compliances on the Workplace
  • Safeguarding Workers in Construction Industry with Industry-Leading Best Practices in HSE
  • Workshop: Five Steps to Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment

Women & OSH: Powered by OSH Gurukul
  • Leading Women Visionaries from HSE discussed the pain points at workplaces faced by women across industries and showed how they overcame those to reach the top.
  • Across the world, there is a general lack of gender balance across all professions. The same is true with regard to OSH.
  • The problem is further accentuated as women are in a minority in OSH decision- making bodies such as national safety councils, occupational health services and enterprise level safety and health committees.
  • The difference between female and male working lives results in a difference in the hazards and risks they are exposed to. There is a stringent need for gender-sensitive risk assessment and professional risk-management measures.
  • The exposure to dangerous substances, violence and harassment and musculoskeletal risks are some of the risks faced by women which have not received adequate attention.
  • It is in the interest of the industry to work together to achieve genuine gender equality and women’s empowerment in the world of work as decent work for women brings decent lives for all.
  • As part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of the OSH India Expo, there was a dedicated conclave for Women in HSE. This conclave discussed at length topics pertaining to the challenges faced by women at workplaces, across industries, and how key women leaders have overcome those challenges and are working their way up on the HSE ladder within their organisations
Conference Overview

The co-located OSH Gurukul conference brings top-notch HSE heads over 3 days from across industry verticals

The OSH Gurukul conference running alongside the industry exhibition features thought-provoking speaker sessions and panel discussions on topics of contemporary interest from renowned HSE heads and international experts over three days. It is a unique opportunity for 100+ HSE officers attending as delegates to listen to 40+ speakers and get the latest Indian regulatory framework updates. It will draw strength from the experience of HSE veterans in large Indian industries and take their experiences to the uninitiated safety and health practitioners in the industry, thereby fulfilling the ambitious goal of bridging OSH divide between the large and small industrial clusters. Delegates learn how to harness a culture of behavioural safety by installing systems and management best practices that promote exceptional performance.

To go beyond theory and put knowledge into practice, this year we have added workshops from some of the leading associations in the HSE domain: IAOH, NFE, ITTA and IPAF. These will showcase solutions around occupational health, electrical safety, technical textiles and working at heights.

Workshop: Preventing Electrical Accidents & Fire in Industries

National Federation of Electrical

Powered by National Federation of Electrical Engineers (NFE)

India’s low ranking in electrical safety is a serious concern that poses significant challenges to industrial establishments. Annually, over 12,000 deaths are attributed to electrocution, with an average of more than 28,000 fire incidents. These incidents result in substantial production losses and property damage due to downtimes and breakdowns caused by fires. As India progresses into the era of advanced industrialisation, it is imperative that electrical fires are minimised, which can be achieved by strictly following the regulations in force and prioritizing electrical safety becomes essential in industries. The panel members will attempt to convey to the audience the importance of understanding the reasons behind these electrical accidents and fires.

Workshop: Ergonomics & Employee Wellbeing - Building a Resilient and Healthy Workplace

IAOH

Powered by IAOH

Through this discussion find out how to set boundaries, practice stress-reduction techniques, and create a more resilient work environment. Employee well-being is paramount, and a healthier, more resilient workforce is a significant asset for any organization. Manage workplace stress effectively, enhance job satisfaction, and boost productivity would be other key topics of discussion.

Making Workplace Safety a Priority: The Top-Down Approach (panel discussion)

When the incident rate is low, one can assume all is well with safety and focus precious time on other priorities. While there are many steps to build an effective safety culture, one where safety is truly a priority, a first step is to change the way safety is measured. Using the top-down approach the safety message is drilled down to lower-level employees further down the chain. In this way, the safety message filters down through the different levels of an organisation.

Emerging Technologies and Standards to Address Workplace Safety and Health Risks (panel discussion)

Processes that were once manual and time-consuming can now be achieved in a quick and efficient manner with digital tools, applications, and systems. Automation and robotics have significantly improved workplace safety by reducing the need for humans to perform dangerous tasks. Robots can be used to handle hazardous materials, work in extreme temperatures, or complete repetitive tasks that may cause strain or injury to human workers.
